Unistrut P5500: What is it?  

P5500 is a deep-profile, 12-gauge (2.5 mm thick) metal framing channel designed to reduce deflection under constant stress and support larger weights. It works better than typical shallow framing channels since it is 1-5/8" wide by 2-7/16" tall (41 x 62 mm). Contractors, electricians, and structural engineers use it when they need high-capacity framing without the expense and labor of welding because it is available in both solid and slotted variants.
