ASTM A240 SS 309S Full Hard slitting coils, Stainless Steel 309S Half Hard slitting coil, UNS S30908 Quarter Hard slitting coil, UNS S30908 Half Hard slitting coil, AISI 309 2B Finish slitting coil, UNS S30900 Half Hard slitting coils, AISI 309S Quarter Hard slitting coil.
309 & 309S stainless steel slitting coils are high-chromium, high-nickel alloy slittings for applications where heat and corrosion are on the edge of conventional grades. Abhay Steels produces, supplies, and stocks these coils for businesses where material failure at high temperatures is not an option.
ASTM A240 SS 309 1/4 Hard slitting coils distributor, UNS S30900 Full Hard slitting coil exporter, AISI 309S Half Hard slitting coils supplier, Stainless Steel 309S Half Hard slitting coils stockist, ASME SA240 SS 309S BA Finish slitting coil manufacturer.
The chemical composition makes these grades durable: 23% chromium, 13% nickel, and up to 1.5% silicon . That mix forms a lasting layer on the surface that stops rust and damage from sulfur, even when used at high temperatures up to 980°C. The standard 304 or 316 grades start deteriorating much before that.
309 versus 309S – What’s the Difference?
309 and 309S have the same basic composition, but AISI 309S has a lower carbon ceiling (0.08% max compared to 0.20% for 309) . 309S has a lower carbon content and is preferable for welded systems. The heat-affected zone is resistant to carbide precipitation, which ensures its corrosion resistance after fabrication. For all non-welding purposes, both grades work equally well.
