Abhay Steels is a leading manufacturer, supplier, and stockist of Stainless Steel 304L Plates. Procurement professionals across an extensive array of industries where welded fabrication and corrosion resistance are top priorities can choose ASTM A240 SS 304L Hot Rolled (HR) Plate, which offer specialized advantages in several environments. ASME SA240 SS 304L No.8 Plate are a low-carbon foundational alloy made to resist the high risk of intergranular corrosion in welded assemblies, making them useful to counter chemically aggressive, acidic, and heavy fabrication environments.
Grade 304L also has standard names (UNS S30403 and EN 1.4307) internationally. X2Crni19-11 Cold Rolled (CR) Plate are an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy containing a maximum carbon content of 0.03% compared to 0.08% in standard 304. The significantly lower carbon helps ASTM A240 SS 304L No.8 Plate deliver critical performance, benefiting by removing carbide precipitation during the welding process. When standard 304-grade is welded, the heat-impacted area may experience chromium carbide formation, leading to depletion of chromium, which ultimately minimizes corrosion resistance; this process is known as sensitization. The UNS S30403 Plain Plate with ultra-low carbon content prevent such sensitization while still being usable in welded condition without sacrificing anti-corrosion properties.
BS 304S11 No.8 Plate have about 18-20% chromium and 8-12% nickel compounds, along with good elongation and tensile strength across a wide spectrum of environments. This grade also defines good weldability, which can be welded even without post-weld annealing, eliminating downtime and time-consuming procedures. Stainless Steel 304L is a very useful grade where annealing becomes uncertain for large fabrications and field installation environments. Stainless Steel 304L Satin Plate' outstanding corrosion resistance to a wide range of acids such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, and other organic compounds makes it a very popular choice across businesses. However, it is not recommended to use it in elevated environments exceeding 425 degrees Celsius, since we have SS 304H, a more preferred choice for severe heat.
Stainless Steel 304L Plates are used in petrochemical industries, food processing and beverages, and pharmaceuticals. To know more about us, don't forget to contact us to know more about the appropriate grade of your choice.
