The 410 Stainless Steel is a general-purpose martensitic alloy with a composition of 11.5 - 13.5% chromium content. To achieve high hardness and tensile strength, this grade can be heat treated. The other grade, 410S, of the 410 family is the low-carbon variant, offering excellent weldability, while also minimizing the risk of cracking, a very good choice against welded fabrications.
1.4006 Cold Rolled (CR) Plate come with several features, mainly high tensile strength and hardness. After proper heat treatment (known as quenching and tempering) 410 plates can bear a significant amount of hardness and tensile strength better than austenitic stainless steels. ASME SA240 SS 410 2B Finish Plate also offer exceptional corrosion resistance and scaling up to 700 degrees Celsius over various applications. However, even Grade 410 BA Finish Plate perform well under atmospheric conditions, namely fresh water, steam, and organic acids, superior to carbon steels, but are not recommended to be used across severe and chloride-acid environments for longer life. SS 410 2D Finish Plate naturally possess magnetic properties and hence are useful for sensors, valves, and electromagnetic applications. 410S provides good weldability; both ASTM A240 SS 410 Satin Plate can be machined, drilled, and formed with respective techniques.
